AIRTHIUM
Description
Airthium is building a record-breaking temperature heat pump (up to 550°C, vs. ~150°C maximum for existing heat pumps). Airthium will be able to cost-effectively decarbonize steam and drying processes in various industries (food, paper, textile, chemicals etc.) by replacing natural gas boilers with electricity-powered heat pumps. This reduces the company’s direct and indirect CO2 emissions as well as their energy bill (due to the coefficient of performance of the heat pump).
Airthium just raised $3m+, filed for their first patent and signed an MoU with McCain Foods to install a 100 kW demonstrator in their Béthune factory (France).
